Letter re siting of trophy
14th August [1973]
This meeting was held on 14th August at Willow Bank, Main Road.
A letter had been recieved from the Community Council (7th August) asking for a date for the presentation ceremony and a site where we would like the trophy erected.
All the members of the Parish Council were invited to the meeting to give their views.
It was decided that the trophy should be placed at the back point of the diamond about 4.5 feet from the Manor wall.
The date suggested was 29th September or 6th October at 3 pm.
The school to be booked to provide tea. A meeting of ladies to take place when date is known to discuss this.
The placing of the tree was discusssed, but as the donor of the tree would prefer it to be a forest tree and all members present agreed with this the only place where such a tree could grow to its ful was thought to be in the school plating field. Mr Watts would write to the school managers and also the Parish Council giving our views on this.Â
A horse chestnut, lime, coppeer beech or oak was suggested.
