Nora Thomas
Taken from Harlaston Parish Magazine 1984
It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Miss Nora Thomas of Lichfield, Churchwarden here from 1970 to 1976. The following tribute is from Rev H Perrins.
How can we pay tribute to Miss Thomas, as all church people in Harlaston know her? Perhaphs that as Churchwarden she combined the difficulties of office so well - to be 'for the rector' when dealing with parishioners, and 'for the parishioners' in regard to the Rector. How well she kept the balance. Yet we might add on those occasions when she was absent from the parish we had to try to cover all that she constantly did so unobtrusively, and that we should not be too selfish as to hope for her speedy return when her alert eye would demand any necessary action.
We commend her soul into the keeping of the Lord she sought to serve.
