Whist drive for Elford and district Nursing Association

A successful whist drive and dance, in aid of Elford and District Nursing Association, was held in the Pavillion, on Thursday evening last week. Thirty-two tables were necessary to accompdate the players.
Prize-winners:
Mr. G.E. Wakeman, Mr. Norbury, Mr. Harrison, Mr. Knight; Miss Mercer, Mrs. Harris, Miss Peace, Mrs. Jones. Miss Chester (Alrewas) handed the prizes to the winners. The Mayor and Mayoress of Tamworth (Alderman W. Dormer and Mrs. Dormer) were present during part of the procedings, and the former expressed his appreciation of the nursing profession in general and particularly of the efforts put forward by the Association. Dancing followed, music being supplied by Wimperis' Band.
