The Mercer family has long associations with Harlaston, with several branches of the family situated on Manor Farm and The Homestead.

A large congregation were present at the Songs of Praise Service when the Hymn Board, Flower Pedestal and Bible Marker were dedicated by Alan in memory of Linda.

Also at this Service the Rector presented Evan with Book Tokens to mark the completion of 40 years as Church Warden at St. Matthew's. Evan would like to express his appreciation to the Rector and P.C.C. for this very surprising gift.
