We have had some unusual events in the past, but June 16th/ 17th was something different! We are very grateful and extend a big THANK YOU to all those people who struggled through the floods to visit the village and gardens. We anticipate nearly 400 people came over the weekend. Our own village folf were, as usual, fantasticand our sincere thanks go to all those who baked cakes, served lunches and cream teas, provided prizes, plants, donations, Bric a Brac and flowers in the church. Special thanks goes to John for the eye-catching roadside signs and to Stephen for the posters and programmes. The picture quiz was a great success(thanks, David). As the car park was flooded the men folk had a difficult job, but coped admirably. Some of the craft folk and band members had difficult journeys to reach us.

What can we say! A fantastic weekend!
Just to say thank you does not seem sufficient - everyone worked so hard- the car parking chaps, the stall holders, the ladies rushing around serving teas and lunches, many people donated cash, flowers, cakes, jam etc plus prizes for the tombolla and draw which Randie appreciated. The children's Maypole dancing was greatly enjoyed as were the Switched on Swing Band and the Fiddle Folk. Many children entered the vegetable painting competition, and the craft visitors displayed lovely items to buy. Last, but certainly not the least, we could not have an event like this without the dedicated, hard working people who opened their gardens.
To each and every one who helped in any way, including John for the advertising notices - A MASSIVE THANK YOU.
£5,200 was raised for the Church and Village Hall, Largest amount ever!
