Members were happy that this month we didn't have to struggle through snow to meet for our February meeting at Edingale School.
Mary read the January minutes and matters arising were:
We have agreed to share the provision of supper at the Group Meeting on 27th April with Wiggington W.I. and
tickets for the Spring Council Meeting at Stafford Show Ground on March 23rd have been ordered.
The date set for our Spud and Pudd evening is May 21st at Harlaston Village Hall when we shall be entertained by Rowna Pownal with her wit and monologues.
This years programme is very varied and members were reminded that the November meeting with be on a Monday Evening when we shall be invited to try Yoga for all capabilities.
Next month is our A.G.M. when we shall be visited by our W.I. Adviser, Chris Richards. A savoury supper will be served after the meeting.
Jane then introduced our speaker, John Brinkley who took us on a journey entitled "some like it hot" and using beautiful photos and music he took us to Acapulco - known as the pearl of the pacific - then on to New York in the Summer, Tunisia and Mykonos a real Greek treat. His finale was the fields of beautiful poppies which appear at our local Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas - what a lovely sight.
Patricia Pitt, gave the vote of thanks, donned in sun hat and sun glasses inkeeping with the theme "some like it hot."
Our next meeting is at Edingale School 7.30.p.m. on March 9th - we'd very much like to see you there.
