Rhona's Great Cancer Walk

Parish Magazine 2003

Dear All,

May I say a huge 'thank you' to everyone who supported me in my quest to raise money for my Walk in China in aid of Breakthough Breast Cancer. The Coffee Morning organised by my Mum-in-Law and held in Harlaston Village Hall at the end of March was an absolute success. The generosity of the people of Harlaston and surrounding villages was overwhelming and a stunning £1075.00 was raised.

My heartfelt thanks to each and every one, not forgetting the stalwart 'behind the scenes' workers who provided and served refreshments, manned the cake stall and sold raffle tickets, to make this such a wonderful event.

Breast Cancer Breakthrough

We are very pleased to inform everyone Rhona has completed her 77 mile walk on the Great Wall of China. She has returned home exhausted but agrees it has been one of those "once in a lifetime experiences".The final amount she has raised was £6000. We are very proud of her. Thank you to everyone who has thought about her and enquired of her progress.

Walking for Charity

As some of you will remember our daughter in law Rhona, having recovered from Breast Cancer, walked part of the wall for Breast Cancer Breakthrough. Well - she has got the rucksack out, polished her boots and is off again in May, this time to walk along the North Ridge of the Grand Canyon to raise money for the British Heart Foundation in memory of her Father who died at an early age during a heart operation.
