At rest

January 9th

Harold Richardson

Churchside

Aged 79 years

The whole village was shocked to hear of the sudden death of Harold. He was only one of three gentlemen who were born in the village and still living here. He was born in the black and white house (now Manor House), a dwelling occupied by three families. After various jobs he started working for the Mercer family in 1962 and spent his working life with them. He was always willing to help anyone and spent many hours sweeping and cleaning the church paths and pavements, tidying graves and was affectionately known as our Brown Bin Man! He was chair of Harlaston Indoor Bowls Club and mad-keen on cricket. Harlaston without him will not be the same.

Our deepest sympathy goes to Ann, Susan and all the family.

'Grant Him Eternal Rest, O Lord"

Mrs Ann Richardson would like to express her sincere thanks to everyone who gave donations in memory of Harold. The very generous amount raised was £700.

This will be divided between the Village Hall, St. Matthew's Church and Cancer research. Many thanks to you all.
