RULES OF HARLASTON CRICKET CLUB. Circa 1925
The membership of the Harlaston Cricket Club is to be confined to persons living in the following parishes – Harlaston, Wigginton, Clifton Campville, Edingale, Croxall and Haslour. Any person residing within this radius during the Cricket season may become a member by having his name submitted to the Committee for approval.
The Committee of the Harlaston Cricket Club shall consist of not more than twelve persons, six of whom must be living in Harlaston. The parishes adjacent and coming into the club be represented upon the committee, but the Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary shall be parishioners of Harlaston.
The Committee of the Harlaston C.C. reserves itself the right of refusal to admit any person to membership of the committee of whom it disapproves.
The annual subscription of playing members to this club shall be the sum of Five Shillings (5/-) payable on the first Saturday in May of each year and novices (and) not playing members shall pay the sum of Two Shillings & sixpence on the same terms.
The property of Harlaston Cricket Club shall be vested in Three Trustees who shall see the property is scrupulously kept for the perpetual use of Harlaston Cricket Club at Harlaston, and none of the Trustees shall be members of the Committee of the club, they shall be parishioners of Harlaston and the office in each case to be permanent.
There shall be not less than one meeting a month of the Harlaston C.C. Committee for the discharge of any business of the Club, for the settlement of accounts and a meeting shall not be held unless there is a quorum of seven persons including the Chairman, Secretary & Treasurer.
There shall be two general meetings of the club at least, one before the cricket season and one at the close. Times, dates etc to be determined by the committee.
An inventory of the property of the club shall be made at the commencement of each season and XXXXX handed to the Trusteee and there shall be a tally made of the property at the close of the season.
No member of the Club shall committ the Club to any expense of any matter what soever, such as travelling expenses etc. unless he has the full consent of the Committee.
The players who shall play in any match shall be selected by a selection Committee who shall consist of three non-playing members with the Captain and Vice-Captain of the eleven and the Secretary of the Club Committee.
The team shall be selected each Tuesday night for the following Saturday’s match, the list to be written and posted in places determined as the most central.
Any member finding he cannot play must immediately notify the Secretary, so that another selection of a player may be made.
