Harlaston WI Meeting (held on 9th March 2010)

Our meeting on 9th March was the A.G.M. when we welcomed Christine Richards to help with the proceedings.

Matters arising included the date for our Spud and Pud evening as Friday May 21st. The tickets for this will be available at the April meeting.  

We had received a letter of thanks from St Giles Hospice for once again providing cakes.

Members were reminded to give Mary or Cora their envelopes if they wished to Enter the Denman Dip at the

Autumn Council Meeting.   

Our Trip to Highgrove is now confirmed for 20th August with a cut off date as the end of June. A show of hands re interest was overwhelming!  The coach has been booked anyone interested should phone 01827 383980 or contact Jane.

Jenny gave the financial statement which was adopted by Josie and seconded by Chris.

As Mary was ill Sheila gave the Secretary's report which was adopted and seconded by Edna and Jane.

Jane gave the Presidents report which was adopted and seconded by Rita and Cora.

Christine Richards then took proceedings and the committee was voted enbloc.

Edna has agreed to help with the Savings Club.  After the vote for President we were pleased that Jane will continue in this roll. 

A lovely bring and share supper was served and the meeting closed at 9.55.p.m.

Our next meeting will be at HARLASTON VILLAGE HALL on Tuesday 13th April 7.30.p.m. when Alan Lewis will be telling us about the "Legacy of the Royal Oak and Charles II." Plenty of free parking space and a warm welcome to visitors.
