Nathan's bowled over

Bowled over...Nathan Badasuv* with generous Harlaston villagers at the skittle evening in the village hall.

Big-hearted Harlaston villagers have raised £700 towards sending a young boy to the famous Peto Institute in Hungary for vital treatment in his battle against cerebal palsy.

Eleven-year-old Nathan Basaduv* comes from Shifnal, in Shropshire. When people in Harlaston heard about the youngster, they all wanted to do something to help.

Mr Eric and Mrs Mary Tiso, who live in the village organised a skittle evening as a fund-raising event.

"It was fantastic the way everyone rallied round to help out. We had free use of the Village Hall for the skittle evening and the bowls club hired the skittles," said Mrs Tiso.

"The evening went very well and we can't say a big enough thank you to everyone in the village who helped out," she added.

Please note the change of spelling of the surname is taken from the Tamworth Herald coverage and it is not known which is correct.
